A Floral Fling #MarilynMonroeMoment
With the spring in full force, it only seemed right to end this Marilyn Monroe series on a bright, floral note. It’s been a thrill to come up with this concept and channel her style over these four posts. She appears to be a myriad of characters – sexy, graceful, playful and elegant with the ability to own the outfit she wears in a way that no one can. As a style icon, what sets her apart for me is how seamlessly she blends into her surroundings and at the same time stands out.
This season’s beginnings excite me the most; the hint of colour popping up in parks, the slight change of air, the longer hours of the day and the gradual change to wearing lesser and lesser layers. During these times, a playsuit is my trusty companion. The one I’m wearing below is for those who don’t shy away from a deep V-neck and beautiful bell sleeves. Add a bit of bling with some accessories and a wide brimmed hat to keep it classy, you’re practically set to attend a polo match (a really fancy one, mind you).

With this, the Marilyn Monroe series comes to an end, but I have to say that it was the most inspiring and exciting creative outlet for me because I got to put my own little twists to her classic style. With each post I’ve tried to recreate her recognisable charm but also retained some bits here and there that are reflective of my personal style. I do hope you enjoyed this as much as I did in planning and penning it down! Have a lovely week ahead.
